I'm not too smart

What's Instagram?

How do I get there?

Is it related to Facebook?

If you want people to go to your page, a link would seem handy

Welcome Budman, do you have any pics of your project you can post here?

Instagram.com/classic_correct_craft_boats This is the link for the Instagram page. Instagram is a app that allows you to share photos and also see other peoples photos. I’ve created this page on this specific app to use a different social network.

Cooper,
To me, it looks like everything Instagram can do is already done on CCfan so tell me, why should I even go to this Instagram app? BTW, I don't see an actual link.

My kids (now young adults) didnt do the facebook thing. They did the instagram thing, and still do. Mark Zukerburg didn't like that the kids were not on facebook so they bought instagram.

I am glad our beautiful boats will be on there, but it is not my thing to do social media. I have nothing to hide but just am kind of ole school.

Social media is one of the reasons you do not see a lot of discussion about old mastercrafts on their restoration forum. They have a mastercraft facebook restoration group instead.

Social media doesn’t have any of the depth of knowledge that this site does... but fb and ig do a great job with the interface (especially mobile) and make it super easy to see and share pics. This site is the exact opposite, unfortunately... it shouldn’t surprise anyone to see that void attempted to be filled.

TRB gets it. There’s probably enough room to link here. But Keep the meat of discussions, chats, info, and breadth of knowledge here at ccfan. And just have a link to the photo scrapbook (Instagram) for phone pics. Use it as picture folder only.   Hopefully nobody will start a tinder cc page, that would be wierd.

People on here can barely use a rotary phone that think they are mechanical engineers.

LOL Pete, thanks for reminding me how old and dumb I’ve gotten. I totally forgot about a dial tone. Couldn’t even tell you when the last time I heard one.

Hey guys this Instagram page wasn’t created to share much knowledge it’s not forum based so therefore it makes it kinda hard to do so. But I completely understand the “old school” stuff, I have parents and grandparents that are stuck in their ways. I created this page to reach out to basically the other side of social networking most is done on face book or ccfan. My page is just for photos and photos only.

I guess we don't social network enough here! Are you going to do the same for Planet Nautique?

So instead of just uploading our own pictures and videos we would have to send them to you first. Seems kind of archaic. I don't see that really taking off. At least not with the parent and grandparent scene.

Like I said this is a total different social network for people that don’t have cc fan or Facebook this is for Instagram purposes only if you want it posted on my page that is your choice to send me pictures or not if not don’t worry about it

Don't tell us what not to worry about!

Guys this isn't competing with CCF. It's just a different form of the Diaries basically. LOL

Nice looking pics. As long as Mark lets me peak without logging in, he can steel as much data as he can from me as I look at those great looking boats,

Cheers

Well though I'm not as old as some of the old farts around the forum, I'm certainly not young enough to be part of the Instagram youth either - that's been more my kids realm.   Until now.   Yes, I've taken the plunge, signed up for an account and sent Cooper a pic of my own CC. Not afraid to try new things .... just usually, well, comfortable with the old

I don't know how it's built, but maybe we could replace the AIM, ICQ, Yahoo Messenger, or one of those fields in the "Member Profile" with an Instagram link. I mean, Facebook and Twitter are there. I don't know if any members use that field to share their info though.

I have been known to post a picture of my boat there, but it's hardly a "classic." But you know, compared to a new G23.... maybe it is?

Well, I am a Grandparent and a Parent, I guess I am stuck in the old ways and have no interest in adding one more place I need to check to get messages. In many ways we are over connected already.
Somehow I do speak with my grandchildren successfully.
Thanks for your efforts to share the boat pictures.

Man you guys are a tough crowd! BudMan isn't doing anything wrong here.

I have to support his logic. Unfortunately, more people are getting there information from Facebook groups and other social media platforms than forums. Not saying it's right just realizing that's where we are likely losing viewers or potential members.

Not sure what site traffic/analytics looks like these days but Facebook, Instagram etc are great ways to increase exposure to the site for the times people actually need help or more information as Tim mentioned above.

WoodyBoater is a great example of how to leverage each platform to drive viewers to your site. I don't think Keith has the time or resources needed to get to that level (yet). We can all help by referencing this site to as many people as possible on any of the platforms.

Won't matter anyway. In 10 years you guys will be skiing behind sailboats and in cable parks.

I'm not on any social media myself. I don't object to it, just choose not to. My kids use Instagram a lot. I think BudMan has a good idea, more interest in our boats and brand is a good thing. As people have said, this isn't competition.

Face it, after reading 7 pages in a thread about whether to drain a 351 block or not bother, once the reader wakes up from the nap the last thing they want to do is try to recreate this site!
