Im looking for a ball park guess on how many yards of (fiberglass) material i should buy to start my stringers in my 69 Ski Nautique. The primaries and secondaries are kiln dried doug fir. The fir will have 3 coats each of resin. My layup plan is two layers of 2”,4”8” 8.7 oz tape on primaries and two layers of 17oz biax up each side and a cap on top. For the secondaries i plan on one layer of tape also 2”,4”8” and 17oz biax up and over to cap them. Going to order through us composites and will be using their 3:1 epoxy. Thank you all for your input. Zach

I don’t have an exact answer for you but I’d go with one layer of each of the tapes and then in addition to your biax maybe get a roll of 12in. We found all of the rolls of tape to be very useful. You will have to measure for amounts/ lengths needed. I can say this, a little extra glass is the cheap part. Over order the cheap parts, glass, cabosil etc. shipping is expensive if you need just a little more. Shoot me your email and I will send you a word doc with our us composit orders (3 unfortunately) for a 16 ft tique.
