After pulling the muffler and hoses to clean things up and replace old hoses, I have a rattling inside the hull hugger muffler. I have had a noise between 2000 and 3000 rpms that is like a harmonic vibration that could not figure out. Wondering if this is it.
Has anyone determined what type of goop it is that was used to glue these baffles inside the mufflers, or what could be use to make them quit rattling.
I have seen the posts about using fiberglass but I believe to get the new glass to adhere all the way around the baffles I would have to spit the muffler in half.
I cut a hole so I can get to the hole baffle by hand. I did find high temp silicone but don't want to go there.
Other option I am looking at is high temp JB weld,??
any other suggestions? Thanks for the thoughts.
