Well, we have now had the 1988 Martinique for 13 months now. Last summer, our primary focus was to find some interior pieces, make it functional for the summer, and enjoy time on the water. It was a complete success.

This winter, the focus shifted into redoing several interior pieces, new flooring, and making it look prettier. Along the way, we found a loose rudder/rudder port... After countless hours of research and help from CC Fan, we were able to solidify the support that the rudder and rudder port needed. Crazy to summarize that process into a few easy sentences, but, she floats -- and I am sleeping well again!

After getting all of the hard stuff out of the way, the sights were set on getting the old carpet out, hooking up blower hoses/motors, reupholstering seats, 3-stage teak refinishing, building new seat boxes, and installing the Hydro Turf.

I had a spectacular group of guys to help put all the finishing touches on the boat. Couldn't have gotten it done myself with out them. Even just having someone to pass the tools, hold a light -- it was help that was needed and appreciated!

With all that being said, there was a hidden agenda behind all of this. My girlfriend and I absolutely love boating. If PA weather allowed for it -- we would be on the boat every day! Having the Martinique complete and looking sharp, we were able to take our first voyage of the season. I took this opportunity to ask for her hand in marriage. Luckily, she said "YES!" It would have been a cold swim to the shoreline for her if not, lol.

So, I just wanted to share this post/pictures of a 90% complete Martinique project (still a few things to do... we want to redo the rest of the bow cushions and passenger/driver seat next winter) and of a couple who love boating! I know you guys here will appreciate a surprise boating proposal as much as anyone!

Here is to a happy life of boating, a summer of sun, and a huge thank you to all of the information that is allowed to be shared for free!

Thank you all!

We love the Martinique OB. I wish we could say we picked it... but it kinda picked us (incredibly thankful for it)! That is a story in itself. She is glad that the projects are done too, lol. Starting to take toooo much time... But, all sorted and forgiven now!

If you see us on the Clarion River (Piney Dam Reservoir), stop and say 'hi'!
