Well CCFans-- embarrassed to say- but 2 years ago- I took the 66 Skylark to work and used a commercial vacuum truck to suck the fuel tank out. Just wanting to get the old gas out and if any trash in there to really clean it out and inspect it for rust. We usually make a stinger pipe out of pvc and cut the end at an angle so it doesn't suck to the bottom. Needless to say- it was 5 pm and kinda in a hurry. Well the next thing you know the fuel tank is collapsing/sucking in on itself. I was devastated! We swaped the outlet to blow air back in the tank and it almost all came out. But later on during lake rides- we'd run out of gas- even though my gauge was reading half full. I reached out to Bruce Hart which he had a few tanks- and finally worked it out where Greg Fosset was able to pick it up for me. .Kudos to both CCFans!
Well I used a wet vac to clean this one out. At work we had some service trucks getting bedliners sprayed in them- so I took the fuel tank to get bottom coated. Painted it red and got a decal made and finally installed it Saturday the 25th. .Last pic shows why no fuel pickup. Sucked the tank pretty good for it to bend the pickup tube that much!
So I 'll let you guys know how the lake test goes...

Looks great Marty. Glad that tank found a good home. It came out of the same color and year boat as yours.
