So this discussion started when I brought the boat home (new to me) and asked what wasn't original; I was informed by this very aware group that the Ski Tique graphics were one of the items that was not supposed to be there.
Some thought it was paint, because of the fading, some thought decal. They were decals.
I tried the old heat gun and scraper method. I tried it in multiple spots on the boat. Couldn't even get the decal to soften.
Someone here mentioned to use a decal removal wheel...cautiously...so I did. It worked amazingly well. Didn't hurt the fiberglass or the paint at all. BTW the paint is original, not repainted.
The starboard side decal was in much better shape than the port side, and I had to go much slower, and then use some adhesive remover to get some of the little bits left behind.
After removal, I pulled out the Rupes D/A polishing tool, and the course wheel. Used Jescar Correcting Compound, and eliminated most of the shadow left behind by the decals.
Then I applied a quick coat of Collinite 925 boat wax.
I think it turned out pretty good. Thanks for looking.
Any thoughts, questions, or comments are welcomed and appreciated.
 I know...it looks like paint. It's a decal, I swear.
Letters off...shadowing present. Let's work on them stripes
Stripes. Gone. One pass with the Rupes and some Jescar Compound.
Just to prove I did the same to the starboard side.
 Waxed.

What motor and the steering wheel is on the wrong side. Only the SKYLARK had the wheel on the left because of the v6 buick motor which only came in left

No Skylark in 69-70, right? Maybe a special order or using up the last of the lefty Buick’s? Seems to be a legit skier with an oddball engine and LH drive (which went together).

Wow! That is a great color! Glass seems to be in very good condition! My 1970 Skier hull number is only 13 before yours SK 2763.

Thanks, other than a couple of dings here and there, it’s in really good shape for 50 years old. What colors is yours sporting?
I have another post with more early pictures, including the LH Universal Sabre V6, and port side steering, if you’re interested.
Where is SK2763 located? I’m in south central Michigan.

I'm in Upstate NY/ Adirondacks. Mine is Yacatan yellow with the same white top. Chrysler 225 cubic in 155hp. Mine has starboard side steering. Mine has some dings in it too but what can you expect. Mostly original aside from from the seats and missing side panels.
