Hello,

I have a 1965 Correct Craft Mustang with Ford 289 Interceptor

The Sherwood water pump (S11090) needs an new impeller . Is it a good idea to replace existing Sherwood Brass water pump with an electric pump.?

If not then any recommendation of where to buy a replacement impeller?

Thanks, Dan

Electric RWP? No, you wouldn't have enough electric to power it. Why did you think electric?

Is there a G on the end of that S11090 number by any chance?

If there is, or even if there isn't, go to the link below and see if the impeller shown has the same measurements as yours

It's the replacement impeller for a S1190G pump

Dan, the raw water pumps with flexible vane impellers have been used for a very long time, I don't know when they began in service but at least back to the 1950's and I'm guessing prior to that. They work great, move enough water to effectively cool the engine, prime instantly, and are as simple as it gets. I replace the impeller every 2 years.
