 Ok, we got the deck sanded down to bare wood and I want to use petit paint to use on a part of the deck and stern. My question is, should I put a sealer on the wood before I paint it, and will the paint stick to a spot on the hull that is now finished with varnish? This is for a small stripe on the upper hull. I am figuring on bleeching the rest of the deck before staining and seealer and varnish (verafane), all petit products.Thanks ------------- Thomasn |

Thomas, Is this for the boot stripe? I've used plenty of Petit EZ Poxy and have always been very happy with it. I have sprayed it and also used the roll and tip method both with great results. On the bare wood areas, I suggest using Petit EZ Prime first. If open grain needs filling, then several coats and sanding's will be needed.
