Hey guys, need to remove the speedo on my 1995 supersport. Its not like my old 2001.

Putting a radio in its place

Does anyone know how take this thing out?

It comes out the back of the dash pod after the pod comes off the dash (4 or so retaining screws - if like the preceding Excel)........... Radio huh? Show us pics when done......

Why should i keep it? Its an airguide, never has worked. I use the PP to tell how fast im going. We have a pp waleboard pro with the speed display.

I’m pretty certain that speedo started life as a regular bathing suit but for someone of 150 lbs.

Wow .... you know, reading the title I had a feeling this was going to go that way

Brent, as you've probably discovered by now the speedometer is held in place by a simple U bracket and either 1 or 2 nuts tightening it to studs on the back of the unit - pretty easy disassembly. Just don't forget to plug your pitot tube so you don't dribble water in you dash. I just pulled all the tubing from both and plugged them at the transom.

I know a lot of folks don't like the 'non-standard' look of the dash when doing the swap, but I sure like it. "Back in the day"   I can understand why the need for double speedos, but today with GPS?   Naaaa...... I'd rather clean up the dash and make better use of the space.
