As I put my new 72 Mustang away for the winter, I was reminded of a summer story that I think some of you classic CC owners would appreciate. We have a 1/4 mile no wake section between halves of the lake that we cruise at idle. One day we were crossing and passed by a newer 23' wakesetter going the other way. The boat had four guys drinking a couple beers and they brought their boat to a stop and watched us pass. They shouted "awesome boat" and gave us thumbs up to our little 16', orange, original CC. Their boat must have cost 100 times more than what I paid for mine and could certainly run circles around it. But, they knew a thoroughbred when they saw it. Regardless, I can't wait for the spring so I can get back to restoration 101! I'll be asking lots of questions and will keep the forum posted.

That's a nice story, I think people appreciate the look, sound, and age of classic boats. I was wondering if the 2nd half of the story was as you left the no wake zone you were nearly swamped by the 3' high wake they created when surfing!
And, truth be told, your Mustang has more acceleration and higher top speed than the Wakesetter!
