Congrats on your retirement! Now you got six Saturdays and a Sunday! Got a buddy that just retired a year or so back. He loves just sauntering down to the kitchen for coffee and to read the paper (whatever that is) at 9:00 AM everyday. My #1 goal when I retire: Escape Illinois!

Dave,
You know I bailed Illinois and couldn't be happier! Part time at the HD isn't that bad and fills in some gaps in SS. I also have a wood boat friend who just bought here in Three Lakes. He's bailing out of Illinois too. He's in McHenry county which is listed as the #1 highest tax county is Illinois!

Pete....I know you are up in the land of sky blue waters livin' the dream!   I am looking at the tv screen for a business show that has a banner that says "IL tops the list for high tax states". We are in McHenry county too. The belly of the beast!! I have been dropping some $$ at HD to buy supplies to get this dump fixed up and ready for sell. Been looking at TN, FL, and of course WI (which ain't a low tax state).

Yes, the taxes up here aren't the best but the 4 up here sure beats the 4 and the 18 I was at in Illinois!

Gary don’t know why you bother with Illinois at all. You can’t even boat from your home up here. The Chain is closed more than it is open.

I'll be hopping on the snowmobile to get there. You'll be needing that boat in a few years when the rising sea levels turn Florida into a 100 degree 100% humidity swamp..

Gary, how much sea level rise have you seen in all the years you’ve been down there?

Yea your right. Only problem is I got too much stuff here to move.,although after 37 years of ownership we got rid of this old beater. Made a good size dent don't have to jockey as much around now.

We only have about 11 years left anyway Pete. You know we are only about 5 feet above sea level down there. I have pictures going back to 81 when they bought the place. I look across the canal and look at my neighbors fish cleaning table and it's drain cemented through the dock wall. Makes a good reference point on water levels. I notice the tidal changes on it- never have noticed the rising sea levels.....

Gary, It must suck getting old and fragile that you have to hide in the south because it’s to cold for your frail white legs.
I say let it snow I’m about tired of this dam heat and humidity.

Cant wait to get the sleds out ]

It doesn't seem like six Saturdays. It's like Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday...
Can't believe how fast Wednesday comes, it's like Monday and Tuesday don't exist.
