I have some play in my rudder and I'm thinking of repacking it. I'm not sure of the correct size packing to use, its a 1996 SN any help would be appreciated. ------------- All gave some......Some gave all |

I have the boat on the trailer and the rudder can be moved both side to side and front to back, Not much maybe a 1/4 inch. I'm not sure if that is to much for a 23 year old boat ? ------------- All gave some......Some gave all |

I had mine apart a few years ago to replace the prop shaft and get the strut back in line. I am sorry but I don't remember the packing size, packing is cheap so buy both 3/16 and 1/4" so you have it on hand when or if you do this job. I added a grease zerk to mine while it was apart. Makes it easy to pump a little grease in to keep the shaft lubed. Although your note has me thinking it has now been 4 years since I added any grease.  ------------- |
