I removed my gas tank to access the inside of the transom for through bolting my swim platform and I noticed the 3” ducts which are connected to the rear plastic air vents were just hanging down and not connected to anything at all. Are the ducts supposed to be connected to something?

It’s from a 1983 SN 2001. I took some pictures but can’t post them.

Any info helps. Thanks.

They lead to the bilge where they can pull heavier than air gas fumes out, it is normal for them to just hang on that year and model....
