I changed the tranny fluid the other day. Sucked out exactly 2 qts out of my PCM tranny in my 2000 Pro Air with a Mityvac 7201 and filled it right back up. I put the water hose on it and fired it up to make sure everything looked good and right before I cut it off, I bumped it into drive on accident with my butt.. It was surely louder than usual. Im assuming the stuffing box and cutless bearing being out of water was where that was coming from? Total time in gear was about 4 seconds at idle. Of course the shaft spun for 30 or so seconds afterwards. I just didnt expect that sound so throwing it in gear shocked me but moreso the loud sound. Sheesh. The tranny is smooth as silk on the water.
