I am looking for a center pylon for my 86' 2001 Nautique. Just purchased this boat a few weeks ago and the past owner ran it with a teller boom and must have taken the loop out. Any info. on where to get one would be greatly appreciated!

John,
From the picture, it looks like the pylon is still in the boat so all you need is the ring and finger? They aren't the easiest to find but do come up occasionally. If it is just the ring and finger you need, I suggest editing the title of your post.

Welcome to CCfan.

I have one out of a 79 ski tique that i installed in a 67 that I am slowly parting out. Someone smarter than me on here could tell you if its compatible or if at least you could trance the ring to the one you have?
I am in Chicago burbs and I'm lockdown for a mother week and my boat is about 4 hrs south. So if you are interested and can wait for it i would grab it the next time I can go down there. Sorry for the long winded message. Just don't want to waste your time if you need it right away.
Thanks,
Brian

Mine looks to be bent.. or is it supposed to have a slight bend back in it? It also looks like there is a brass plug in it.. does any of this seems right?

John,
The bend is normal. Regarding the brass plug, are you referring to the small hole in the side of the pylon about 5" down from the top? If so, that's the hole where a roll (spring) pin goes to retain the ring and finger.

No he’s referring to the top where the original ring and finger was cut flush. Oof.

Thanks Tim. I didn't look close enough. It looked like just a hole at first.

John,
Without a doubt, the PO was a back yard hack. Now, if you want to install the ring and finger, the sawed off shank in the pylon has got to come out. Your best bet is to drill and tap the sawed off piece so you can attach a Porta Power hollow cylinder and pull it out.

Thank you guys for all of the info! Ok that makes sense that it is cut off.. The guy I purchased it from seemed to have cobbled a few things.. Do you know if one from a '79 would fit or is it easier to try to get this out and find a ring?

Ring is the same 73-87 but pre-80 SN and Tique pylons will have a flange at the floor. Tique pylon may be shorter and no bend.

If the poster doesn’t buy I would be interested in purchasing two ring and finger
