Last year I put PP on our boat. I wasnt happy with the throttle engagement and just passed it off as a consequence of the PP. I decided to disassemble the linkage today and see if it needed servicing after 1450 hours. All I have to say is that I'm lucky! So when you guys have a few minutes check your linkage. I'm going to go thru the control and will post pictures etc of that refurb as well.

Good advice. You could have a critical failure at wide-open-throttle. That would pucker most people up...

I’ve disassembled several engine controls and was shocked at the wear. One had locked-up completely. This happened to a buddy’s boat while on Our houseboat at Lake Powell. I had to jerry-rig a “fix” to keep from losing a much needed boat.

These controls are often neglected until failure.
