Hi Gangsters,

I realize this will be a controversial subject but what do you all think that, long term, across their entire history, what are the best boats Correct Craft has ever made.

I bet this topic has been raised on here before but I'd love to hear what people think.

1. *Sport Nautique* - classic no matter how you cut it. Big'ish, Reliable, Classic looking all the way back to the first generation. Gorgeous, clean, even mean looking. My favorite thing they've ever done.

2. *236/Super Air Nautique 230* - Kind of a forgotten classic, Such a nice big boat that manages to retain the classic Correct Craft lines.

3. *Ski Nautique 2001* - I mean come on. The 82-89 Ski Nautique is just a gorgeous machine and they have proven to be excellent across many generations

4. *1st & 2nd generation Ski Nautique open bow (SNOB)* - not really my "thing" but a small wake and a boat that is powerful as hell and an amazing performer.

5. *G23* - begrudgingly. Just a total game changer. Insane price, but just an amazing physical object.

What do you all think?

The best one is the one you own!

That gets murky. What qualifies as a different boat? I see you’re listing the Ski Nautique 2001 and SNOB separately, but lump all of the Sport Nautiques even though the first couple of years had a very different hull. To me the Ski Nautique is the most iconic boat Correct Craft ever made and it’s not even close. The original Correct Craft lineage took the Nautique name. Yeah, I get that there have been a bunch of Ski Nautique hulls and some were better than others but that’s the boat that gave the original company its current name and it was the flagship boat for most of the company’s existence.

What's the best flavor, chocolate or vanilla? Best boat is the one that suits the individual the best. That being said, here are my votes.
60s mustang. Partial because I grew up with one. A classic, fun, 16 foot inboard, a dead breed.

2001 - obviously a classic. Those lines! Essentially unchanged for 8 years.

TSC - Still touted as one of the best ski boats ever, despite the tweaks to improve wakes and such on subsequent iterations.

All those other...open bows, cross overs, wake boats (ugh) are "also rans" in this competition.

Whichever one the other end of my tow rope is connected to

I love the 2001's and my first thought was whichever one you own, but then why do I always look at craigslist and the diary' for another?

The Paragon mention is an excellent point. I remember telling my Dad about it when it was coming out. I was like "Dad...guess what. It costs.... TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS." And then watching his face. It blew my mind what it cost back then. Great one to mention in the context of this thread. Thanks, Jonny Quest.

Trying to be unbiased here have owned a 89 2001 and currently a 98 Sport.

The space and versatility of the 98 Sport for family water sport makes it a contender.
The classic lines of the 89 2001 with the 1.23 trans and a touch extra room place it in the mix.
My third nominee would be the bubble back TSC Ski Nautique slalom ski hull.

However that paragon is beautiful

No real need to be unbiased. Based on what you have in the diary, those are two damn fine examples, exactly the ones I would have nominated anywyay. I love the 88&89 2001, love that version of the Sport in your profile pic. Extremely nice fleet!

I've skied, wakeboarded, and surfed a ton of CC's... and I keep coming back to the DD Sport Nautique.

It skis acceptable in the course, add ballast and surfing can be fun on a longer board. Wakeboard wake is more than enough also when ballasted.

The fact that the running surface from the Super Air until 06 still skis the course in decent form in a DD package is why I'm on my third.

Long live the Sport

Hard to pick one.

I'd add the late '60's Barracuda. I've owned a 16' inboard for over 40 years, but I drooled over that bigger hull as a kid. Seemed bigger than a 17 ft. boat, ton of style.

'98-'02 Sport. I'm biased, like Lewy. I think maybe the most versatile Nautique ever. Maybe rivaled by a 2010 and later Sport 200, but that's a smaller boat.

My favorite:

The tower was custom ordered. They made it out back of the CC factory where they make the trailers.

Thanks! I do get a lot of of complements. Really I can't believe its a 27 year old boat. It's a carburated GT40 - I guess its not really a GT40 if its carbed - but has the GT40 heads and still has the ProTec Ignition. It runs great. Just had seats redone and I refinished the teak swim platform. I'm going through misc electrical and mechanical components to make sure its summer ready. Just installed a new KUS fuel sender and noticed the fuel line appeared degraded so I ordered a new one tonight. Buffed her out and installed the original regalia decals below the stern Nautique decals.   I appreciate originality and fortunately she was original and unmolested when I got her 4-5 years ago.
