Deleted my Invertaflo last year (no choice - it was shot and leaking badly) and finding the straight pipe setup too loud.

Thinking about getting a Fresh Air Exhaust setup after reading some good reviews about them... The fume reduction and improved CO exposure is a great perk, but do we think this will have a meaningful effect on engine/exhaust noise reduction even without a muffler? Or would I be better off trying to get a new muffler?

New invertaflo's are in the $600 range... would rather drop $500 on the FAE (I think) but not if it's still going to be super loud sans Muffler.

Personally i wouldn't want to drag that around through the water.
But that said, I/Os dont use mufflers

I put a FAE on my 95 Supra Comp GT40 after a Karen in the neighborhood came over complaining about noise. For whatever reason the Comp never had mufflers, so you know what that sounds like. With the FAE it is extremely quiet, and no fumes skiing shortline. Highly recommend it.

Hey thanks for the review. I just spoke with the FAE owner and he indicated it’s actually preferable not to have an exhaust with the FAE. Made up my mind, going to order one.

Did you get the type with a bracket? Or did you replace your through hull assembly? He indicated either is an option, but not sure how much of a hassle it is to replace the exhaust tip so leaning towards the swim platform bracket attachment.

I got the swim platform bracket. If you need to take the platform off for any reason, definitely get the quick connects.

I had one on & took it off to get louder exhaust sound back.

My kids asked me to reinstall it because they could smell exhaust. So I did.
