Rodney,
First understand the nut doesn't hold the prop on the shaft. It's proimary purpose is to seat the taper of the prop to the taper of the shaft.

Did you lap the new prop onto the shaft?

What color is the oil? Red for trans and brown for engine.

Only lapped without key marked then with key going to auto zone now for Prussian blue and grinding compound and new cotter pin.

Oil is pretty fresh but looks brown on paper towel. Will need to check fresh drips. Prop must have seated pretty good because I can't get it off so will need to get puller before I can lap it.

If the prop is on there that well, just leave it on.

I bet your vibration was a completely unseated prop.
