Fresh water impeller was shot. Replaced for the second time in 6 years but the kit doesn’t come with the correct gasket. Tried sealant but leaks. Metal plate inside has some wearing but not terrible. Is there a affordable replacement pump for these?

Eric,
Have you been ordering the kit specific to the model of the pump?

Also, never run the impeller dry since they are water lubricated. I've even see impellers blown at the ramp when someone has started their engine before the boats in the water. It's the "we had better see if the engine starts before we put the boat in" senerio.

Read the adding pics instructions but I don’t see any tree in a toolbar to click.

Read them again. You need to click the full reply icon first.

The kit I use is Jabsco 1210-0001-p. Impeller is correct, worked last time but every other part the kit comes with isn't.
Apparently you can't select full reply or get the add pics options from a phone in either display mode..

Eric,
Do any of these gaskets look correct? I found them listed on Amazon by using your impeller kit # and doing a search. If not, cut your own. Also, you may want to pull the pump shaft for new bearings and especially a new seal. They are common power tranmission components and not specific to the pump.

Looks like our pump and the gasket is more triangular. We had to cut new ones. We grabbed gasket paper at the auto parts store and used scissors and an exacto knife. Takes a little time but you will be back in action once done. A hole punch/die would be awesome for the screw holes.

The pic of gaskets is what my kit came with. They’re all missing just enough material to make them not modifiable. I guess I’ll make a gasket. Is there not a new pump option for these?

Eric,
A bad shaft seal could also cause the RWP not to work too and the reason I mentioned it.

Thanks. Oh you mean like why it didn’t suck water when I first started it because the seal provides aN air leak. I dunno, I smelt it burning within a minute.didnt leak last year. Still can’t believe for such a simple pump there’s not $50 New option available.

Did you lubricate the new impeller when you installed it? Where have you been looking for a alternate pump? The worst is you would need to do some minor plumbing/hose changes.

I’m sorry I smelt the old one that failed. The new one that leaks because of no good gasket, yes I lubed it.

I googled a few for the boat and only $400-$500 pumps popped up.
