In my 1997 Super Sport with the PCM GT40 I recently changed my Autolite 764 to the "new and improved" Autolite 104 spark plugs.
I was able to launch the boat and pull one skier. As soon as I turned the boat off to retrieve the skier, the boat would not re-start.  I pulled the plugs and rechecked the gaps (.045) and put it back in the water.  I was able to successfully start the boat on the trailer.  As soon and I turned the engine off, I could not get it started again.  Any ideas?

Put the old plugs back in and see what it acts like.   Yeah I know..............they're in the trash Wink

Did you change the plugs because you were having some running issues?

Plug wires on the right plugs?

How'd it run pulling that one skier? Normal or not so good

Nothing new or improved about a 104, they've been around for a long time. They're just an "old and equivalent plug" to the 764 which has been getting discontinued for quite a few years now.

Yes old plugs are back in the boat but have not had a chance to hit the water.

I changed the plugs because it was running a little sluggish.  At idle with it in gear it felt like it kind of chugged along, almost like it could stall.

I changed one plug at a time so as to not get wires crossed

It ran just fine pulling the one skier. no hesitation out of the hole and not sluggish.
