Could anyone tell me if one could install a ski pylon into a older correct craft that doesn't have one installed? I have been looking to buy an older mustang of ski tique and some of the mustangs don't have a pylon installed. The pickings are slim to purchase one and i am wondering if I did get a boat without a pylon is the sub-structure there to simply install a pylon......thanks

Allen,
The short answer is yes, there's no reason a pylon couldn't be installed. You may even find that there's already a mount glassed in at the keel of the bilge. Many were since at one time pylons were optional and dealer installed. A hole was cut into the sole (floor), then the plylon bolted to the mount at the keel. When looking at the boats, take a look in the bilge just forward of the engine.

When you get closer to a purchase, fill us in on what you found.
