Just changed my front main seal on my PCM40, and now the prob won't spin in either direction.  Just seems to be stuck in neutral.

Nothing seemed overly complicated when changing the seal, what could I have done incorrectly?

See if the cable is hooked properly to the shift controller, then remove the cable and see if you can operate the shift control normally by hand, you should feel it hit the detents (spring loaded ball) that holds it in each position.  Forward, Neutral and Reverse.   I would start with the basics and the issue should show up.
I am guessing the trans cooler was hooked back up properly and fluid was replaced after install.
The splines on the tranny properly installed into the flex plate, Damper.   Just basics but something is off or you would be working fine already.   Hope you fix it quickly.
Mark

Jeff,
You installed the pump on the front of the trans wrong for the rotation of your engine. The pump position is rotation specific.

Nevermind..  Figured it out, pump front plate arranged for the incorrect engine rotation.
All fixed.

Note the time..fixed, quick cruise and a glass of wine.  With no helpers..

Don't you hate it when you make statements like that? Wink

Nice work, a WIN!  Should celebrate with COLD BEER, wine just does not cut it.😎

Yes, I do hate when I make a statement like that and find I didn't pay attention to a simple detail!

And the wine..we'll that's what started this all, all I wanted was a chill cruise and a glass of wine after doing the job on Sunday and some busy days at work.  In the end, I was able to still pull that off.

Thanks for the quick responses!
