Hi all,

The speedo's on my 96 176 aren't working very well, specifically they're reading low and take a few minutes to come up at all. I've got new Faria senders at the stern, and have checked the connections at both ends of the tubing. I suspect the tubing is bad, but they're both reading equally low.  My old guy tendency is to find natural rubber, but I wonder if vinyl with last longer? 

Any other suggestions for getting them to be more accurate?  They're probably 15 mph low?

That sounds like a clog or partial clog to me. What I have done the past is to remove the Speedo tubing from the speedometer end and then carefully and gently, blow compressed air backwards through the Speedo line back to the pitot pick up.  The I buy a GPS speedometer so I don’t have to worry about it...
