Hey Guys,
I bought a Velvet Drive for a 1986 SN off Facebook (thanks for the tip Donald!) but it will need to be reindexed to RH drive. Anyone have a CCFan or Youtube link to that?

Looks like page 5 of this manual?

1. So I loosen the 4 bolts
2. Get the pump plate loose without tearing the gasket
3. Turn the pump plate the opposite way
4 Rebolt and torque?

Here's about a couple thousand words worth of pictures to help make sure the pump is oriented the right way for a reverse rotation engine

You'll have to rotate the picture 90 degrees to the right and pay attention to which way the little arrow next to the word TOP is pointing Wink

You don't really need a new gasket, it's a big rubber thing and the transmission is a fresh rebuild presumably with a new gasket and if you follow the directions in the manual a few posts ago, you don't take the pump off, you take out the 4 bolts then rotate the pump and put the 4 bolts back in.

You'll never even see the big rubber gasket

You might have to tap the pump lightly with a hammer to make it move initially.

You don't want the arrow like in this next picture or it'll be indexed for normal rotation and the boat will be in permanent neutral if hooked to a Reverse Rotation engine.

Once again you'll have to rotate the picture 90 degrees to the right

If by chance you have an early pump that also has RH and LH stamped next to the arrows like in the picture below, the best thing you can do to avoid confusion is to ignore the RH and LH (just make believe they're not there) and go by the arrows

The RH and LH markings had to do with B/W's way of looking at the rotation which was opposite of how the marine industry looked at engine rotation.

The RH and LH got deleted in later pumps because it was too confusing
