Hello From Wisconsin! It’s ski season.

I'm wondering is anyone has thoughts on this.

I will be leaving my 1982 SN in the water a bit this summer. I’d feel more comfortable if the water intake had a seacock that I can close when not in use?

Has anyone installed one or have thoughts on this?

Thank you

Hello All. I just found this post on seacocks.

I'll need to pull the boat and see is it a regular thru hull.

Thanks for any input.

Is there supposed to be a linked post or something else to look at?

Hey Hollywood.

Meaning if it's not opened or prone to failure?

Thank you

An easier solution (on the concern about the intake hose starting to leak) would be to replace it with new hose & double clamp it at the thru hull fitting.

For garden hose adaptor, the Timmy T is the way to go.

Probably if not opened when using. There are other places that can sink a unattended boat . Rudder port ,shaft log and rain . An extra battery or shore power charger and a second bilge pump would be good insurance.

Thanks good tips. I'll replace the intake hose and add a second battery

The other components are in good working order and I keep an eye on them.

I don't have access to shore power.  I do own the dock and could put a solar powered batter bank on it.

Question:

If a pump did need to run I continuously doesn't anyone have an idea  however long it would take to drain a deep cycle?
