Has anyone successfully put cargo on the tongue of a 2001 trailer?

I have a little mini bike I want to bring to the lake. It's 4ft long and 80 lb. Doesn't need a ramp or anything. I think it might fit against the bow stop thing. I'm not sure what kind of rack I can get. Thoughts?

I see a lot of guys carry there trailers small spare tire up there
But there has got to be a proper tongue weight to consider. A mini bike seems like a lot

80# seems negligible

Don’t turn too sharp!

Yeah this would be a concern.

I could also put a multiple receiver on the truck, but the platforms you can buy are pretty deep. I would hopefully make a very minimal mounting pount.

Little more involved, but might be of interest to you.

C channel bolted to the frame rails and strapped down properly should be fine though.

Just what kind of truck you have that an 80 lb minibike won't fit in? 😳

If you can mount it so it clears the car while turning I say no issue at all.  You can move your boat rearward a 1/2" and offset the weight if you are worried.   When we go camping, 4-7 day trips our boat is loaded like the Clampetts moving to Beverly Hills.   I have a 100 QT and a 60 QT ice chest fully loaded mounted on the back deck and inside the boat is loaded up to the sides with all the other stuff.  We tow with rigs rated for 7,000 + pounds and have done this for about 35 years now.

I have the same minibike in my garage, I am rebuilding it for the grandkids to play on.  I am trying to mount a 5HP briggs and stratton because I have it already.  How does the engine on yours work?  Lots of power?  That engine would fit better than the Briggs and make things easier.

You could fit a bigger engine on it. Would be just fine for the kids with this size engine. I can get it going close to 30, but it does struggle uphill. If I ever have time I'll soup it up.

The boat tongue idea looks a little Beverly hillbilly
Pete’s front vehicle hitch idea much better and safer

Leave the mini bike or 3 kids at home. With just one mini bike there will be too much arguing LOL
