For some time now I have used this website to search for a Ski Nautique that is very special to me, but as yet, I have not found it. My father purchased the 1978 Ski Nautique new from ABC Marine in Miami when I was 13 and the boat remained in my family until around 2000 as I recall. Needless to say, I spent endless hours with my friends behind that boat skiing with my father driving and I’d love to have it back in the family.

I have the original invoice with the HIN number, engine serial number, etc. as well as my recollections about some of the options on the boat. Any advice that you may be able to provide in finding the old Nautique would be very much appreciated.

HIN CTC08033M78I

Engine CM 6153R

Original Color White/Brown

Options Stern Ladder, Wooden Shift Knob

Original Florida Registration - FL 4909DL

Thanks for your help!

Brent

Good Luck with your search, my first boat was a 1978 Ski Nautique and I loved that boat, sold it in 1990 with 1,500 hours on it.  Many times I wished I had it back but after owning another brand for 20 years I bought the 1995 Nautique, I have to say it is a better boat in all respects but it won't spin a bat turn like that old 78 would.
We were young and had so much fun in that 78.  Hope  you find yours, if not buy another and make it yours.
I sold mine in 1990 for $7,500, they still sell for that in good shape today.  Pretty amazing.

Thank you for the kind words.  I may do a "replica" but I'd sure love to find the original!

I also have a 1978 that was not mine but my cousin's.  We all grew up behind it, they sold it, I bought it back some 20 years later.  It needs stringers and I am trying to convince myself to do them.  So far I have not been successful in starting the project!

Well. You’ve come to right place
I’d give it 3mo , keep bugging the site weekly, it may pop up
If not pursue the replica this winter and start restoration
Maybe fan of ccfan will sell his
Do not try and replace memories, but make new ones

Show my age but my dad had a 1964 atom skier that I learn behind. Gorgeous little inboard. Cried when he sold it.

Found some very close HIN numbers - probably manufactured the same week - but not the right one yet...
