i recently installed a new steering cable in my 1991 SN boat but am still having stiff steering issues.  I also dropped the rudder and lubed with marine grease. Are there any other places to look at for the stiffness?  the cable that Nautique Parts sent me was a 20' cable could this be to long?

You could have issues with the helm itself being stiff.

if you take the cable out of the helm and turn the steering wheel, does it spin real easy without a bunch of free play or looseness in the wheel?
