I was web surfin' for a 13' B Whaler and ran across this:   https://boats-from-usa.com/correct-craft/correct-craft-dart-245381

So has anyone heard of this ?
And how and why did it go from 29,000.00 down to 2,000.00 ?
Did it sink ?   Did he find more rot ?

Keep it....from sinkin'

I'm guessing a min price for the auction? But I don't see a link for the auction. I didn't see it on eBay. Are you just supposed to throw him a price where is says 'add new question'. Sort of different I guess.

I need an OB Wink

I suspect he did or rather never found the end of it. The stem was the problem area.

I bet the price is missing a zero, as they will tell you when you call.

Other than that it could be a complete scam.

It was on ebay awhile ago and the listing showed that this seller sold it for a lot, IIRC upwards of $14k.  The sale must not have gone through.  Nice story :

1949 Correct Craft Mahogany 17.5 Runabout

NO RESERVE AUCTION.

This boat will sell to the high bidder. Bid to win.Auction ends this Sunday evening. You are bidding on the only surviving painted "Dart" known to exist. There are only three surviving Correct Craft Dart Runabouts. With only 175 original hours on this boat, it is a genuine time capsule.Correct Craft is the oldest Family-owned Boat manufacturer in the World. The historical importance of this company cannot be overstated. The Dart is a 17'4" Mahogany Runabout. The boat is located in SouthernMissouri 65793

The boat was used for demonstrations and display at the Correct Craft manufacturing facility in Pinecastle Florida and stored there from 1949 until 1999 when it was sold to a collector named Billy Sutton. He offered the boat for sale ten years ago for $29,000 and eventually traded it to me for my lifetime collection of 16 Vintage Motorcycles. I am the second owner. Because of the historical significance of the boat, it was signed by Ralph Meloon in a commemoration ceremony in 2009. It has been featured in Calendars and other Commemorative articles of American Boating History.

The boat has current Louisianaregistration good through 2021.Trailer is included ready for extended highway use.The trailer has working hydraulic brakes.A Title is included with the trailer but signed by previous owner. (I have his contact info)

Original Graymarine Phantom Six flathead.Factory original paint on the deck.Factory original interior. If you see a boat on the internet that looks like this boat, then it IS this boat. The previous owner heavily documented his ownership of this boat on the web.The previous owner repaired a small portion of the left rear sidewall at the waterline. This repair can be seen in the pictures of the inside of the engine compartment. The under side has been repainted by the previous owner. This 70 year old boat is showing its age, but it's Turn-Key and lake-ready.Eventually this boat will need to be repainted or sanded down and varnished.I don't have the time or space to do this job. This boat is built of Sheet-Mahogany and as can be seen in the pictures, some of the sheeting will eventually need some maintenance and repair. This boat can be delivered to your door for a reasonable fee.Check out Uship.comCall or Text me with any questions. (4I7)252-I4O7This boat was kept at the Correct Craft factory for over 50 years and has been signed by Ralph Meloon himself. (Google him if you don't know)It deserves to be preserved for future generations.I do not have the time, space, or resources to preserve and enjoy this boat.I leave it in your hands. Good luck bidding.

Nice read, for a collector it is a prize.  For me, not so much.   I appreciate the history and originality but I will let someone else own it.
