Today I was scammed off of a wanted add that I posted in the CCF Parts for Sale section. I am looking for a Barracuda Windshield and recieved a message from shineb99 stating that an individual named Crawford whose email was thermocraw@outlook.com
This individual reached out stating they had a cuda windshield but couldn’t get any photos because they weren’t super tech savy and his son would have to send him some...the individual also was knowledgeable enough about boats to where it did not raise any red flags.
I paid the “seller” for the windshield and he promised to get me some photos within the day...fine this is CCF people no red flags were raised yet.
I got a message from him today of a windshield on a boat, the windshield was incorrect and I also knew the boat he was sending photos of. So I called him out on the windshield and he said that was just photos of his boat he was showing me...fine. Then he proceeds to send me photos of another boat which again I had seen photos of online that he said was his sons, and then photos of a mustang that was his “parts boat” that just happened to be a really clean boat that I had seen photos of before.
Long story short I called him out and I’ve got a claim open with Venmo trying to get my cash back.

Be cautious from any messages from SHINEB99, the number they were using to contact me was 316-435-8633, and their Venmo account is @Robert-Defriess

If anyone is on the Classic Correct Craft Boats Facebook group I posted a video of myself explaining the whole story and attached photos.

Have you contacted UPD plastics to see if they have a mold for it
You can also send them your broken one to replicate

I'm so sorry this happened. Hopefully you get your money back via Venmo.

I have suspended the user from the Forums.

Sorry that it happened as well. But like going to an unfamiliar part of town you have to be aware of your surroundings. Him being a new member is a flag, probably only joining because of an opportunity presented, member profile is pretty shaky as well . No pictures is another big flag. Good luck on your search- I'm sure one for real will turn up

More scammers are cruising this site.  I posted here looking for a 2007 Ski Nautique trailer.  A brand new ccf member messaged me that his friend has a trailer and provided an email.  I contacted the seller and he responded offering the trailer for a 2007Ski Nautique at $1800 in Los Angeles. Photos had pines trees and rolling hills.  I found his exact photos on an inactive 2013 Planet Nautique listing for a 2009 Super Air trailer.
