I have a 1986 Martinique on the trailer and I noticed that it is leaking a small amount of water from the water pickup. What is the best way to repair it? Thanks

I guess this must be bilge water leaking past the sealant between the grate and the hull and not just water leaking from the suction hose and coming out through the pickup itself.

If it's bilge water, I'd remove the pickup and reseal it with something like 3M 4200, Loctite PL marine or any of a variety of equivalent sealants

Thanks for the quick reply. When I looked at the grate from the underside I could see where the water had dripped. The hose inside looked good but hose clamp was not real tight. What I don’t understand is how the water could get up that high seeing there’s not much in the bilge. Anyways, I would assume I have to take water pickup off from the inside? Any tips on this would be appreciated! Thanks.

Does it leak water into the boat when boat is floating?

Don’t know. Brought boat home for the winter and just noticed the leaking from water pickup. It’s not a lot of water.

It sounds like it could be residual water draining backwards from your suction line after the boat came out of the water.

And........nothing to worry about if that's the case Wink

I think that sounds more like it. Thanks.
