I have been working with Acme over the last year or so and wanted everyone to know that they have added two new RH (1” shaft) props to their catalog.
474: 13x12.625, .080 cup 3-blade Acme has offered this prop in LH flavors for a long time- its common to see on Malibus and other off brands (the LH 1-1/8” version = 449, the 1” version = 475). We have found that it works great for light (19-20’) 350ci powered boats of all power levels (260-400hp). It pulls RPM down a bit from the 13x12 (LH 540 equivalents like the 541 and 515) and always seems to speed the boat up a little up top. The 474 should be a great option for a lighter RH boat like a 351w powered 2gen SN, or a modified (gt40/p headed) early 2001. Small block early 80’s vee hulls (martinique, bfn) too.
3992: 13.25x15.5, .105 cup 3-blade This is a reduced cup version of a relatively new prop that came out a few years ago (3098 = .150 cup). I found that even the lighter 196 6L boats that run well with the 668 (12.5x15.5, .150 cup 4-blade) can’t pull the 3098 up near their power peak, but the reduced cup will let it spin pretty similarly. This raked 3-blade is a bit faster than the 4. Probably still too much prop for a gt40 boat but good to have a bigger 3-blade option for the 1.23 rigs.
I’ll be submitting a group order come spring time ‘22 (see post in boat parts for sale), but these should be available from most dealers as well.
