Selling a gutted .. true project!! 1973 correct craft south wind 20 ft, engine is good... ( it is not in the boat), have a lot of materials for it to fix it, even bought black vinyl wrap for the hull, new parts and pieces.Tried to restore but I have realized I don't have the skill set to honor what my dad wanted to do to it. I am not sure where to go to sell this. Was thinking about 4,500 for everything. I did take the floor out and removed the foam and rotted out stringers. It does come with a trailer. Any ideas?

What trailer and engine? Upload a few pictures - I may be interested in the entire thing.

Hi DeAnna, thought I'd add a little detail to the replies you got.  These people aren't "lowballing" the price, that is really what a boat like that might be worth.  Even though it really is a classic, they don't have much value to start with, and in pieces, needing a stringer job and a ton of work, there isn't much value.  The engine is probably the reason they offered what they did, often boats like this get picked up for free.

To give you perspective, a '73 Southwind that had stringers replaced, was in pretty good shape overall with a good running engine but had been painted or vinyl wrapped, wouldn't be worth $4,500, probably more like $3,000.  If fully restored with excellent gel and interior and everything working then maybe $4,500 to the right person.

Hope this helps, not trying to burst your bubble on the value of the boat, just explain the situation.

“So, how was your weekend?”
“Well, let me see…sun burn, stiff neck, screwed up back, assorted aches and pains….yup, my weekend was great, thanks for asking.”

So here are some pictures. I had been working on sanding the sides down so I can put black marine vinyl wrap on which I can add if you want it. 10 yards by 5 ft roll. I have the copper pipes, wind shield horn etc that we took off. Dimension of what was not salvageable with the upholstery.

Thank you for posting the pictures. There are people on here much wiser than myself, but I'm not sure about the trailer. Is it the original trailer? Chad
