 Hello,
Have a 1982 Ski Nautique 2001, Ford 351, Prestolite distributor, screw down distributor cap.
What pointless ignition kit do I need?

Thank you, Matt

About all you'll find these days is a Pertronix kit for that distributor.

The most user friendly kit is the 91581LS or the cheaper 1581LS.which isn't quite as sophisticated.

You want to make sure you get the LS which stands for lobe sensing. It doesn't need a separate magnetic ring like lots of other Pertronix kits.

The 91581LS is around 135 bucks and the 1581LS is around 100 ish. Lots of places sell them. Google is your friend Wink

These 2 LS kits fit both the screw down cap distributor and the earlier clip down cap distributors unlike their earlier kits.

You'll have to make a timing adjustment when you install any of these kits

An 82 came with a clip down cap originally, but these 2 kits will fit either like mentioned earlier.

The link below shows a picture of a screw down cap and a clip down cap Prestolite distributor
