I needed to glass a muffler back together today and ran out of resin. Went to local auto parts store and picked up a quart can to find out it was $51.  I was quite surprised so I looked at a farm supple store and they had one left on the shelf for $20. After reading some old threads I also looked into thin wall aluminum tube. That would have been $35 per side so had I not had the fiberglass stuff from another project that is the route I would have taken for sure.  All of this got me to thinking what the approximate cost of a stringer job would be in today’s world?  Anyone have a rough guess?

I forgot to mention that I shared a picture of said project with our forum composite expert Tim Morfoot and he kindly called me with some helpful advice. Thanks Tim!

US Composites is a good place for supplies.

It has always been expensive to get small quantities and certain suppliers are higher as well. I found US Composites to be the cheapest when buying several gallons for my project, but I haven’t compared the change in price since then.
