Did you find your dipstick yet?

It has an 18 gallon gas tank

Kinda hard to tell what you'll use in Gallons/hour, not knowing how you drive it, but somewhere in the 3 to 5 range for an average unless you're real heavy or real light on the throttle

OMG .  Dipstick hiding in plain site.  The drivers side exhaust manifold has a cut out for the dipstick to fit in a pocket….

Thanks

We are using the new to us boat as a hot rod. So i believe we will be on the high “ 5 “ gallons per hour for sure

Hot rod use..............you'll use multiples of that 5 like 10,15 20 or so, depending on how "hot"  Wink

In my 1978 Nautique I cut a wooden dowel for verifying the gas tank level.  When I used the gauge it would read empty when I had 5+ gallons left.  When you have a small tank to start with it would cut your day short using my fuel gauge.   The Stick allowed us to do a quick check before deciding when to quit for the day.   I had markers at Full, 3/4, 1/2 and 1/4 so anyone using the boat could do a quick check.   I had to develop this high tech tool to keep my wife happy.   When the gas gauge got down to 1/4 tank she would call it and say we have to go home.  On fill up the boat would only need 10 gallons max.   My stick got us another hour or more of play while verifying to my wife that we were still safe to go.
Glad to hear you are driving it like a Hot Rod, that is what boats are for, do all that stuff that is banned in cars now.

We just had this conversation last Sunday morning while barefooting with the 78.  We figured it uses about 10 gals per hour for that type of use.  We also laughed about back in our hey days we could burn through 3 tanks on a good Sunday!  At  $.80/gal that was about $36!  The good old days!
