Our 1976 CC Mustang has a rub strip all around the boat… but are we missing the ROPE… i see this on SN and others of the same vintage.  Was this an option or was this the factory’s differences in models ?

How about a good close up picture of the rub rail

It's kinda hard to tell from your picture if you have black rubber with a groove for the rope (and no rope) or if you have some black vinyl type aftermarket rub rail.

In any case it's not original to a 76 CC of any model.

All of the 76's had an aluminum rub rail with about a million screwheads showing.Wink

The rubber and rope was a couple years or so later and CC had a kit you could buy to replace the earlier aluminum.

I will take a better photo.    No “ rope” slot… just a solid rubber rub rail the entire boat.  Just was not sure if we could aftermarket add the rope ..  no screws visible.

Was curious if previous owner had removed the rope rail.   Will post more pics
