I’m looking to replace my faulty starter. It is not the original. It is the more modern small high torque that I have removed. Casting numbers on the faulty starter are F2SU 11131 AA. No other markings are available. My 351 top of the pulleys turn from Starboard to Port. Normal rotation, correct? Battery is solid and charged. Good connections around. What is the proper replacement? I see prices ranging from $100-$350….

Yep..............Normal rotation and a good replacement would be an Arco 70200 available at numerous places at a wide range of prices for the same starter. Arco 70125 is the same starter without the little wiring kit and is a little cheaper.

It's pretty easy to find the Arco for about 150ish bucks and free shipping

You can find cheaper stuff but the Arco is a good quality known brand.

PS...........Ford started using the modern high torque permanent magnet little starter in 93 model year engines (being built in 92), so unless you know that it came with the big old style, there's a good chance that it came with the little style originally.

I'll vote for "original starter"

The numbers you found are a Ford engineering number, so it's an original Ford starter or a rebuilt original Wink

The F says it was built in the 90's and the 2 says it was 1992
