2010 sante ZR409 non ces
I just got the boat (had 95 sport gt40), last boat had gobs of power this boat seems lazy. it black smokes when under a load and uses what seems like a lot of gas. I realize it is bigger and heavier than my last boat but the fuel consumption seems very high. It has no codes or faults in the history. It starts fine and has no misses, so far I have ran 2 tanks with injector cleaner and changed the plugs ( they where very sooted up). I have searched the google for problems like this with little to no success.

Can you plug in a scan tool and see what is going on.  Check Fuel Pressure,  Make sure the knock sensors are working properly.
The 409 should feel like an absolute beast compared to the GT40.   They are thirsty but should feel powerful not sluggish.
Good scan tools allow you to check pressure drop in each injector, power balance test.

The ZR engine makes great power and pulls really hard at higher RPM.   Any chance someone put a large prop on it and it is just too much prop?

Figure it out before damage is caused.

I bought the diacom but I am still trying to learn how to use it. The prop is more geared towards surfing, I would like to get a different prop for cruising the lake.
