I am hoping someone has one of these laying around, even if it is barely able to still be read. It is the only way I'll be able to try to determine the hours on the 2000 SN I just picked up.  Much thanks!

I guess I'm kinda wondering how you're gonna use another one to tell how many hours are on your engine? Any info on another one  would be from the engine it came off of

Edit......I'm not psychic or anything but you have a 351 with a carburetor according to my friend Carnac, so there are no stored readings in an ECM or anything like that, that'll spit out any information for you but you already said that on Planet Nautique.

Carnac says you're thinking about cannibalizing 2 gauges to maybe make something that might tell you the hours?

PS.......Carnac checks out Planet Nautique every once in a while

Giving the same info here would be nice  Wink

How about one of these:

Hook it up to a 12 volt source for the appropriate amount of time to reflect the actual hourss showing on the old Tachometer.  You could either add a hole on the dash or replace a not-so-useful gauge like the clock.

Umm Johnny..........  his gauge is broken and he has no idea how many hours are on the engine Wink

That's what he's trying to find out one way or another before he does anything else like a new gauge

Well spotted! So yes, I just purchased a 2000 SN, with a carb'd 351W, and no perfect pass. So the only record of hours on the boat will be in the teleflex RPM gauge. I took the gauge I have apart, and found it is two boards that plug into each other:

It looks like the display board might be just a display, and the memory of the hours is in the other board. From what I have read, it is the display that goes out on these. So maybe, if I swap a display from one that can even just barely be read onto my other board, I'll be able to read the engine hours!

I like the way you think  Most people would just trash it  Wink

I don't have anything to donate to the cause, but good luck and hopefully you get something to cannibalize and get this figured out and post the results, good or not so good..
