Is this the type to slide over a stock 2.5" pylon? Do you still have it?
Just reply to this post to let me know.
Thanks,
Gabe

Hey 6027,
I just looked at that thing on PN looks good to me. Can the height be adjusted? If so I'll take it. My email is: chladeks@outlawnet.com

Gabe,
I still have it, yes, it will fit over a stock 2.5" pylon. No, the height is not adjustable. It is a fixed height. (I don't think I have ever seen an adjustable height pylon, but I could be wrong.)

From memory there is a roll pin that stops the bottom piece on the top of the pylon. I'll measure the length from the roll pin to the top of the pylon and send you an email today after work. That will give you an idea how high it will be on your boat.

Also, if you are going to put it over a ski plyon with the ring on the top, the ring will need to be removed.

I'm not 100% familiar with that model BI pylon. It probably has a pin in it to stop the upper part going down.

On the Skylon there is a pin in the bottom end that the top one slides down and stops at. We have removed that pin and the top piece slides all the way down and stops at the low rope tie point. That is how we usually use ours, but occacionally I'll put a pin back in place to make it the original height. The difference is about 8"

Hollywood, thanks for the insight. Good thinking.

Gabe, I tried to send you an email at chladeks@outlawnet.com, and it got bounced back. I re-sent from your Profile info.

Hope they arrive...

Or you could buy my stock '88 pylon and replace your ring/finger. Let me know if you're interested.

Holleywood,
Is their some advantage to not taking off the ring on my 79 pylon?

Yeah, you won't ever need to put it back on to use the pylon! I will be putting up for sale in the next week, just thought I'd give you first dibs since you might be able to use it.

gn6027 sent me the pylon and it's in great shape and got to me promptly. Another positive interaction with a fellow CCF member.
