I've had my tranny from my '91 SN sitting on the floor of the garage all winter as I've had the motor in the shop being repaired. I went to move the tranny yesterday and there is a big pool of tranny fluid under it. I didn't remove any plugs or fittings. Should it be leaking out? I might be crazy but I don't think any should come out from where it was attached to the bell housing. Where should I be checking for leaks?
The engine is a 351 and the tranny is the PCM 1.23:1.
Thanks.

No, did you crack the filter lines? anyways rule of thumb....if its out re-seal it
we need more info, what trans? how many hours? did you check the drive plate?
what oil? If it is a PCM, should you switch to Dexron? the older ones used 20 w and switched
to isolate a leak spray it down with brake cleaner and set on some clean white paper to try to find the leak.
are you going to check alignment?

please give all the info you can

I didnt see the PCM 1.23:1
thats an earlier one, what type of oil are you running? it should be changed over to Dexron Mercon.
if its a seal and you cant source one you'll have to buy the whole kit....dig deep

Thanks for the quick reply. It's got about 650 hours and I'm running dexron in it.
I'll check the filter lines. But, I think that the problem could be elsewhere.
I'm not very familiar with any diagnostic or overhaul procedures with this unit. I'd like to discuss, if you are willing to help. Shoot me an e-mail.
