I have never heard of a means of checking a tachometer. Anyone know? It's on my 77 which has been converted to breakerless.

8122pbrainard, Most large dealerships have a MASTER,three wires to hook it up.Compare the two , you will find out why good guages,Gaffrig for one, cost so much.
Kinda like a cheapo watch, cost drives a lot of purchases.Timex or Seiko, which is on your wrist........boat dr

Doc, So you're saying that considering the quality of the gauges (cheap) that CC used, the chances are that the tach is shot. I don't need to hook up the shop tach because I know it reads REAL low.
