Hi all,
over here in Germany it is a lot easier to get NGK spark plugs than standard autolite 24s. But which is the right NGK plug for my 1988 351w engine? As beeing equipped with fresh water cooling the engine is running a little hotter compared to a standard engine. Is that relevant?
Thanks and happy eastern,
Tom

so what would you suggest? Is there an alternative to autolites? Bosch maybe?

I would order the Autolites. Can you get Motorcraft (same thing)? NGK are great for Honda & my Seadoo. Most say Bosch suck in any motor, but I have not tried them.I like to only use what the maker says to use exactly.

in Germany NGKs are considered the best spark plugs around. Hence, nobody would import Autolites or Motolites. I could order them directly from the US, but this makes no sense, if NGKs are at least equally good. Which NGKs are you using in a standard 351w motor?

A: It can be.
M: No it can't. An argument is a connected series of statements intended to establish a proposition.
A: No it isn't.

one thing you can't change in a spark plug is the internal resistance and that makes all of the difference, might work fine for a short period but over the long haul they never last. NGK's are not concidered very good in the US for automotive applications in US designed motors. The only thing standardized on spark plugs are the threads.

I've been running Bosch Platinum's in my '79 for over 100 hours (3 seasons). They've worked great and have given me no problems at all.

Go to ngk.com and cross ref. the autolite or motorcraft number. NGK is one of the best mfg.of spark plugs on the market. They use a truer porcelin insulator to pull heat away from the electrode and use a better coating on the threads to help prevent rust. You will be very happy with the performance. Good Luck
