I have a 1976 Ski Nautique and it feels like it's slipping when I try to accelerate in forward. When it's in reverse it vibrates badly. The fluid looks good, and it has a new motor in it. The other problem is that the motor doesn't like to run over 900 rpm's. Could it be a problem with the carb?

Is it a borg warner? smell the fluid if it has a burnt smell to it chances are that it is slipping, and if its not a bright red and looks like it has a little brown color to it, it is slipping. Does it drag in nuetral?
you really need to have someone go over the boat if it wont run over 900 rpms. How mechanically inclined are you?
