I just bought a 1982 nautique. It has a rope holding it on the trailer at the front of the trailer. This is my first ski boat, but a friend had one many years ago and from what I can remember it had a turnbuckle to hold it onto the trailer. I just can't tell where or how it connects to the trailer. It is a 1982 correct craft trailer, but I am not sure it is original. Any info is appreciated.

glen-l has them in stainless. get the right length with the hooks. when you load, do NOT tighten the turnbuckle all the way down.

Have a crank installed on the trailer. It is much easier because they have a lengthy strap (kinda like a seat belt). This is better for two reasons...
1. When you drive for a while, the turnbuckle tends to loosen up...the crank does not. 2. Instead of driving the boat up on the trailer, you can hook up the boat to the belt while it is still in the water. Then crank the boat onto the trailer. Life is so much easier that way. Paul |
