I just bought a 97 ski nautique. What is the correct idle speed? It idles at 900 rpm which seems high, and the boat is moving pretty fast at idle. Should it be more like 500-750 rpm?
Thanks

Thanks Munday,
I just found the specs in the reference section. 650-700 rpm idle in gear. Now I just need to figure out how to turn down the idle. I found the idle control, now I just need to see if there is an idle set screw of if it can be done by adjusting the cable.
I'll keep looking but any suggestion would help.
Thanks

It's pretty easy,Trace the throttle linkage, near air intake/flame arrestor, will find a hex screw for trim idle speed, use a no.8 block, you should trim after engine warm to 650RPM, but I think the former owner ajust higer RPM for some reason.
