I have an 86 Natique that I tried to convert to electrtonic ingition system. Here is the part that I ordered http://www.amarket.com/imptppp8.htm

I cannot get it running right and am very frustrated. I don't know a lot about engine repair but just went by the instructions. I want to put the points back in because at least it ran ok before the conversion. Now I can't remember how to hook the points back up to the coil. Any suggestions, instructions or anything would be greatly appreciated.

Tol, In another thread, the comment was made that after the conversion the timing needs to be set. Do a search and read up on it. Did you check the timing after you put in the EI?

What are the problems that you're having? A little detail might help to fix your issues. The timing is the first place to go as Pete stated already. You don't want to put the points back in, that's for sure.

Thread jack...sorry...Eddie; hows the concrete look? Did it rain in the afternoon on it? We went to Lakeland and got poured on.

Tol- I just ordered the exact same kit from amarket for my 86 (clip dow dist). There was a piece missing from the kit- the "sleeve", which is very important. Make sure you got a complete kit...

John, the concrete slab turned out great, thanks for your help. No rain at all. Got the pool pump works back in on sunday and the forms pulled. Now doing some sprinkler pipe repair before back filling the slab. Still have to reinstall the fence and do a little clean up and it'll all be ready to park the boat on in a few weeks after it has a chance to cure out really well.

Don't get discouraged Tol. The Pertronix ignition module is one of the best upgrades you can do for you boat. You got it for a nice price too. After your timing is adjusted correctly, if it still doesn't run right, double check your wiring. It's possible you could have received a bad unit.
