Is it just me our has anyone else been having problems with our site lately? Both my home and work computers have been extreamly slow or even locking up. Has the server become overburdened? It takes forever to load.

I have noticed the same thing Pete, the site is pretty slow at times lately, also have had "time out" notices after posting.

Edit: Keith, after hitting "post" for the above, a minute or 2 later the below error message appeared:

Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0113'

Script timed out

/forum/forum_posts.asp

The maximum amount of time for a script to execute was exceeded. You can change this limit by specifying a new value for the property Server.ScriptTimeout or by changing the value in the IIS administration tools.

Ive noticed it too. Im guessing that the site is growing steadily, so we're seeing the effects of increased traffic. The fact that its springtime probably doesnt help.

Might have to delete some boat pics to clear up space for MM's sandbar thread. Site has been slow lately and I get those errors quite often.

I've been getting the Active server errors too. I would agree, the server is probably getting bogged down with too many hits.

Hi All,
Yes, there was some problem with the server. I called the host and it seems to be fixed now. If any of you notice something like this again, feel free to do as others did, and drop me an email.

Thanks everyone.

to me it just seems like I'm butting heads with someone else posting at the same time and it will hang up, I just go to my home page and then page to the site and it's fine.

Sorry everyone. Site had some major issues today. I was away for several hours and when I checked in tonight, it was down. Looks like it's time to find a new host. Not a fun process. I guess the site just keeps growing too fast.

Keith, I'm getting the idea that the host isn't being very responsive to your complaits and the reason you feel it's necessary to find a new one. Is this hard?

All,
I apologize. I was away for part of the weekend but understand the site was very slow. Then I found it locked today -- as many of you informed me via email.

I understand that the site is now back up and running, for now.

Well, I have signed-up with a new Web host that allows for me to expand my service as the site continues to grow. I will be transferring the site to the new host sometime this week. I will first need to get a version of the site, a copy, up and running with the new host. Then I will pick a time (very early in the morning) and transfer the various databases. Then we'll wait for the DNS change to take affect and we should be good to go.

Thank you all for your patience. And please, continue to notify me of site performance issues.

Thank you,
Keith
